This summer, Outdoor has been making the city streets sizzle. City dwellers have been persuaded to don their sporty gear,  they have been whisked off to foreign places and taken back in time.  Most recently, Outdoor has brought Art out of the gallery and on to the streets.

Art’Door, Luxembourg

JCDecaux transformed the streets of Luxembourg into an art gallery showcasing local talent. The street exhibition Art’Door displayed works of artists, painters and photographers from various backgrounds, including Rafael Springer, Frank Jons and Aida Schweitzer. 37 columns decked out in the colourful designs were located strategically around the city, delighting both pedestrians and motorists alike.   Art Everywhere, UK Fancy having a Constable masterpiece in the car park or a Turner at the train station? The UK-based project Art Everywhere aims to stage the “largest exhibition of its kind across the world” on donated sites from JCDecaux and other Outdoor companies. The public has the opportunity to participate by choosing art pieces from over 600 years of British art, and by interacting with the posters via their mobiles when the exhibition goes live in August.   Street Museums, USA Two newspapers kiosks owned by JCDecaux have re-opened as street museums near the bustling Union Square in San Francisco. Both kiosks feature "A World View of Puppets" exhibit with puppets from France, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Myanmar, China, Italy and Vietnam. The museums are open 24/7 from July to November, and lit during the evening for public viewing and enjoyment. Future plans are likely to include additional Kiosk Museums in the Financial District and North Beach, where vintage toys, teapots and items from San Francisco's literary legacy will be exhibited.
